Every time a visitor clicks on these ads, you’ll make some money. The most familiar place to do this is Adsense by Google, the biggest Ad Network in the world.

Companies pay lots of money for Google to display their ads on Adsense. You’re basically helping these companies generate more traffic and sales through your website.

  1. Creating your own product/brand

The third way you can generate money online is creating your own product/brand. You can do this by 2 ways: drop-shipping or Amazon FBA.3 real ways to make money online: ecommerce

  • Drop-shipping: Drop-shipping is very common for online entrepreneurs nowadays. First, you’ll want to create your own e-commerce website. Then, you’ll showcase different products on your site and focusing on improving traffic. You won’t have to worry about ordering any products until your customers make purchases on your site. Once you get the order, you can start buying products from a manufacture. Manufacturers then will send products straight to your customers. Therefore, you won’t have to deal with any inventory or shipping. Especially, you don’t have to invest any money until you generate some sales.
  • Amazon FBA: This is very similar to drop-shipping. The difference is, you’ll have to invest some money in the beginning. You will buy products from manufacturers, then send them straight to an Amazon warehouse. Once your products are there, Amazon will take care of your inventory as well as shipping to your customers. The good thing is, Amazon prime is the best shipping company out there, especially for U.S. customers.

I never knew anything about drop-shipping, I knew that amazon ships products to people, but I didn’t understand how the whole process works, but now it all makes sense…and I have you to thank for that.

Although I do know about affiliate marketing a bit, what are some of the ways I can get traffic once I have signed up with either amazon and clickbank in order to increase the amount of revenue my site/s generate?

  3. Thank you for explaining the methods to making money online. The one I’m really interested in is drop-shipping. As I have always wanted to start an e-commerce business online. Is there no way where the customer clicks and goes directly to the drop shipper’s site? My biggest thing is not having to do anything with the ordering process. I really like affiliate marketing as well, as it seems to be still a big money maker out there. Thanks for the great article.

    1. You’re welcome. They are all good ways to make money. You just have to choose the one that fit you the most. I’m not sure if I understand your question about drop-shipping, could you reiterate that? Thank you

  4. I have heard about drop shipping being a common way of making money besides affiliate marketing.

I need some clarification on how the money comes in.

Does the customer pay you the money for the product first, then you buy the product from the manufacturer, then it gets shipped to the customer, then you keep the remaining difference?

Is that how the process works?

I ask because I am confused and not completely sure,

    1. Yes Jessie, you got it right. That’s exactly how the process work. I’ll also write post about drop-shipping soon.

      Thanks for your comment!

  5. Thank you for your take on the 3 real ways to make money online

I am interested in Adsense. I knew people are making killings ( a lot of money using Adsense). And I have a lot of bad experience with it.

To get admitted in Adsense what are the do and don’t that I must be aware of?

How are people getting approved timely ?

How long can I stay admitted in Google Adsense? And how do people get paid ?

    Thank you.

    1. Hi John,

Thanks for your comment. It’s actually pretty simple using Google Adsense.

Here are some good tips to get approved by Google Adsense: https://allbloggingtips.com/applying-for-google-ad

The best thing about Adsense is, you can keep applying. I got denied 3 times in my first site. But I got it right the 4th time. Make sure to keep writing good contents. Also, you want to have about us, contact us and privacy policy page there.

If you have any other questions, let me know 🙂

  6. Hi Kien!

    Great post!

I totally agree with you on this. I have been doing digital marketing for the longest time (20 over years!), and always making money for other people’s businesses. Late last year I finally decided to start my own online businesses.

I’ve started on Affiliate Marketing with 2 sites – https://asiatravelgems.com/ and https://timotheuslee.com/. Building the sites up now, slowly but surely.

I tried FBA but need money to buy products.

I’ve known about Drop Shipping but kind a stuck on this. I am keen to get started on this. But need help to know the steps. And in-depth info on stuff like which platform and theme is best for drop shipping? What about payment – how to manage and handle this? And so many more questions.

Where can I go to learn how to do drop shipping?

    1. HI Tim,
Thanks for stopping by. Definitely great job on starting your own 2 sites. If you want to learn about drop shipping, check out ESA 2017 by Adrian Morrison. Got lots of good reviews and step by step to start your online store. I’ll definitely make a separate post about drop shipping soon. Thanks!

  7. I did some drop shipping before but it was on Ebay. I’ll be interested in doing it again in the future with my own website. Do you know how you would go about getting traffic from an e-commerce website? I know with blogs all you do is write things and get ranked under keywords in google. But with ecommerce sites where you don’t write many posts, how would you rank?

    1. Hi Kent,

Thanks for your comment. Actually it’s suggested that you have a blog in your eCommerce site too. It will help you rank if you have a blog. Additionally, social media is the important key to your success in eCommerce nowadays.

Let me know if you have any questions…

  8. Interesting to hear about the Amazon FBA options. I have never heard of that. People trust Amazon much more than they would trust a new online store. They also get access to use their Prime account and save on shipping. I am going to look into this as an alternative to the drop shipping from China model.

  9. Hi there,
I have a blog, but I never tried adsense, and I really don’t know how to do it. Is it easy to use? I just have to sign in to Google Adsense and that’s it?
I’m really interested in this, do you know how much money can I make with adsense? Can I control the advertising I want to accept in my blog?
Thank you so much for your help

  10. All the things discussed here are true and it explains the details well how to generate money online.
What I liked from this article is that it provides lots of information to beginners like us regarding what to do and how to make the most out of the internet.

  11. Hi Kien, another great post – well done! I’ve been wondering about advertising with adsense on my site, is it really worth it? Do people actually click or buy from random ads? If they do then that’s great, but I’m not sure that I want to cheapen the look of my site with flashing ads if it’s not going to yield anything. What are your thoughts?

    1. Hi Shirley,

It depends on your strategy. There’re many people making money on Adsense. You can also customize your ad to make it look good on your site.

Personally, I don’t like putting someone else’s ads on my site. I’d rather be in control of my content.

      Thanks for sharing!

  12. These days it seems like everyone has a website with ads or a product that they’re selling online. It’s pretty cool how you can make money by connecting with other people all over the world.

I’ve actually been thinking of creating my own product for a while now. Although, I was leaning more in the direct of a digital product that people would find valuable so that I wouldn’t have to worry about inventory and shipping and such.

Do you think that it is better to sell your own products through an established retailer like Amazon, or to do everything on your own? I think could make more money per sale if I sold it through my own site, but if I went through a bigger company like Amazon it would probably get more exposure to potential customers.

    1. Hi Nick,

      Thanks for your great questions.

It’s really depending on what you like. I saw many people who are successful selling products by drop-shipping (selling in their own site) they make money when the manufacturer sends products to the customers (so they don’t have to store inventory). You can be really successful with this if you’re great with Facebook ads, social media ads and good with catching trends.

However, Amazon is another different game. One of the best part of doing business with Amazon is shipping. If you’re in the U.S., you could possibly receive the product next day. Moreover, if you search pretty much any products on search engine, usually Amazon page is ranked very very high (many time they’re the 1st keyword ranking on Google, so they get lots of organic traffic from the internet).

However, many sellers understand this and start selling heavily on Amazon. Therefore, Amazon has its own game and you may need to learn or make lots of mistakes before becoming successful in this field. But once you’re successful, it can be very profitable.

      Hope it helps 🙂
